Your right Duke, it was the entertainment  of the day, one way for people to view the world from there home.

Very nice and appropriate treatment for this vintage stereo instrument.  Can you imagine walking into someone's house (in the 1890s) and the host or hostess saying, "Oh, you must sit down and look at my new stereoviews!"  It was a prime form of home entertainment in those days.

The original stereo viewer sold for 24 cents in the late 1890?s.
I took this picture at the Wayne Historical Museum in Wayne, MI.
I made the picture look old by adding some antique filters.
