Mark,
Since I had saved over my previous color corrected side-by-side BMP copy
that I used to create the anaglyph version, I had to re-align a new anaglyph
from the original stereo pair for you. This time I used IrfanView instead
of PS to correct color.
As you will notice, I also did not clone parts of this version created for
you which will reveal some areas of R/R where the light was different because of
the two perspectives. Also, it was a cha cha so there was no doubt some
movement between the shots which will cause shadows to be at the wrong
depth. This had also been corrected previously with the clone
tool.
As I'm sure you already know, a shallow DOF looks ok on 2D shots but on 3D,
it doesn't work the same way. Hopefully, this "before the background was
changed out will shot" will show why everything should be in focus for a 3D
stereo. The out of focus background is a distraction here. I do
believe there are exceptions for everything, so as usual I'm speaking in general
terms.
I will post another iris shot what has the foreground out of focus but I
happen to like the shot even though it would have been better if the entire
flower was in focus. It is pretty difficult on an outdoors hand held
macro cha cha to control such elements.
Look for the next iris post with the side pedals out of focus.

Flagrant
Great shot, Brian. Just out of curiosity, can you post the image
before you knocked out the background? I wonder how much the background
foliage affects the perception/impact of the flower itself.
Thanks!
