Hi, I watched the much-hyped transit of Venus from the Falls of the Ohio State Park in Clarksville, IN. The Louisville Astronomical Society provided telescopes for hundreds of people to view the event. This shot was taken just minutes before the sun set. It's a composite of two shots, the first a very long zoom shot of the sun and tower across the Ohio River in Kentucky, the second a shot showing detail including the disk of Venus and sunspots taken through a telescope equipped with a solar filter.
I then converted it 3D, the depth is not realistic, but hopefully interesting to view.
