Flash --- I had the same reaction you did.  After thinking about it for a while, I'm sure the math behind the fisheye effect in photoshop was formulated with the assumption that it would only be used for 2D images. After all, it is really just a uniformly applied type of distortion to give the appearance of curvature in 2D.   It appears that the visual discord is mostly along/near the edge of the image, where it have been distorted the most.   In creating this shot, I applied the effect to an already existing flat anaglyph. Perhaps if I apply the process to both the right and left images separately and then use those to create the anaglyph, it might work better.  Hmmmmmmm.  Will have to find the original file (which, given my organizational abilities -- or lack thereof -- may take a while!).  I'll bring it to the group and we can compare.

Thanks!

Nice image for a narrative. Something about the stereo doesn't agree with my eyes.

Duke, your silver balls shot reminded me of this faked fisheye anaglyph I made for a future episode of my 3D ipad app.  It shows a prisoner peering up into a video camera in his cell.

Found a good deal on a Fuji W3 camera, took it out for a trial run yesterday, was pleased with the results.

This is part of a weird new sculpture in front of the city-county building in New Albany.
