FIOS Installation
These two installers from Verizon (Debbie and Brian), installed my FIOS
recently, changing me over from DSL which used the copper pair into my house.
DSL which was much better than the old "dial-up", runs over the same copper wire
pair that the land-line telephone used but copper is being phased out and
Verizon no longer supports it. FIOS uses a
fiber-optic communications
network. I retired from Verizon ("inside" - Central Office
Technician), and we usually referred to the fiber optics simply as
"light".
I was talking to Brian about my 3D camera (since I wanted them to be
ok with me occasionally taking a shot or two) and took the picture so he could
see what 3D stereo was. I raised my camera up enough to include Debbie in
the shot.
Verizon uses a lot of red in their logos, and clothing. Brian had a
red shirt on while Debbie had a red collar and trim on her sleeves. I
manipulated the color via Photoshop to be more "anaglyph
friendly". Debbie's dark shirt adjacent to the bright highlights
behind her also caused heavy contrast ghosting. I darkened the road and
lightened her shirt to help reduce the harsh ghosting. Although there's
still ghosting, it is better than before the treatment.
I used SPM's "Ghost-reduced Anaglyph" option instead of the Dubois
feature when creating the PS pre-treated image. As usual, my
last step was saving the anaglyph in IrfanView after final brightness, contrast,
and sharpness adjustments were made.
