Doing the tourist routine at Roche Harbor, WA.
Roche Harbor is a small town on San Juan Island, WA. The Wikipedia says it "... was formerly a
company town surrounding the
Tacoma and Roche Harbor Lime Company, which was incorporated in 1886.
Lime production was a major industry and revenue source for a corporation run
by John S. McMillin, whose ashes are buried in a large
mausoleum nearby."
The old electric plant has long been abandoned, but some of the equipment remains. One generator incorporated this old FairbanksMorse 3-cylinder diesel engine. The INFORMATION file is a 2D shot of a sign, which briefly outlines power system history - and includes an interesting BW photo.
