As a birthday gift, I purchase a full Bahamas vacation
package, including stays in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, an ocean cruise to and
from
the Bahamas, along with six days at a luxury resort in
Freeport, Bahamas. The trip originally was scheduled for November, 2011,
but
had to be postponed until April, 2012.
The change proved to be most beneficial, for it was
just what my wife, Marge needed after her mother and brother died in
January.
This sub-series chronicles our Bahamas
vacation.
After several days in Fort Lauderdale, we finally
departed for the Bahamas on board the Bahamas Celebration. The
enormous vessel
boasted nine floors, a casino, several entertainment
stages, bars, two restaurants, souvenir shop, and more. We bunked in a
tiny, but adequate
cabin that had everything a couple needs for a
relatively short cruise. Our evening meal was served in a formal dining
area, enabling us
to chat with two other couples at our table. Here
we see one of the other couples, relaxing and dining as the Atlantic seems
to smoothly whiz by.
