Thanks Duke.  I actually have many different versions of this design.  I think I may have posted the convex one last year which influenced me to post a slightly different version this time around.  Here's one that's inverted.

That's a very nice design, visually pleasing, but I think I agree with Wojtek, I like it better convex rather than concave.  In fact, I think it would work best with the base at the window so it would appear as a big bubble on your monitor screen.

I inverted the design because I liked the concave "bubble" effect.
 
(Designed in Photoshop in 2011).
