With this sub-series we come to the end of my year-long
Retrospective that will consist of three multi-postings.
By mid-October there was a distinct chill in the
air. Having gone through a mild winter many of the leaves had
retained
their bright red-yellow-orange hues, making it
worthwhile to try and capture the autumn glory before all would turn to dull
brown. The problem, however
with anaglyph stereo photography is that such hues
often translate into retinal rivalry, due to the use of red/cyan
viewing
glasses.
I made the decision to tone-down the offending colors,
but not to outright eliminate them, thus allowing for some
mild rivalries to percolate through. It was a
compromise that may give off a small degree of discomfort, but will
allow the viewers to hopefully enjoy the spirit of
autumn in the Catskills. Please feel free to express your opinions as to
how well I
may have succeeded, or if I failed.
The first view takes place just outside the hamlet of
Jeffersonville. If one wants a greater appreciation of the
colors
that abounded, remove your glasses for this and other
postings. You won't get stereo, but you'll see a more color-accurate
depiction.
