~ Ditch Witch ~
The name on the side of this equipment says "Ditch Witch".
The operator stands on the back end and drives the machine. The main
operation seems to be for picking up and moving the sections of logs the tree
trimmers cut which in my case were about 18 inches long. This is a pretty
standard length, meant for fitting into a fireplace. I also saw the
machine used for bracing one side of a tree to prevent it from falling toward
that direction when it was cut down. It left tracks all over my yard
which I will try to tamp down or fill in when Spring arrives.
