109407_mackerel_sky_02_05_13_DUKE_A.jpg : (428K)

The sky was covered by a beautiful spread of alto- (or possibly cirro-) cumulus clouds creating the "mackerel sky", so called because if resembles the scales of the fish.  This was obviously taken on a recent visit to a cemetery where several of my dearly departed rest.

Technically, this shot presented some real challenges.  The fisheye lens has high inherent curvature, much of which I eliminated by using the warp tool in Photoshop.  Doing this in 2D in no big deal, but matching the warping on L/R images is another story.  Also, a great deal of cloning was necessary to flatten the sky.  There are a few remaining artifacts, hopefully not too noticeable.
