These two images are experimental images using a Sigma 4.5mm f2.8 fisheye lens. I am trying to teach myself the "ins and outs" of what is possible in taking cha cha's with a fisheye. It is tricky, to be sure. As might be expected, depth is greatly amplified at the center, and almost non-existent at the edges. The fisheye produces true circular 180 degree images. The church shot has been completely "defished" and cropped. The "people" shot has been partially "defished" and cropped. The historic church is Christ Church in Philadelphia, and the image was taken on 4/4/18. It was attended by George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. Their pews were personally reserved for them and are still labeled as such. The shot of friends was taken on 4/1/13 at Turtleback Zoo in West Orange, New Jersey. I asked them to hold their breath while I fired off the images
at 6 frames per second while moving sideways. Before taking the shots, I told them what to expect. I think that they cooperated pretty well. Anyway, as I said, these are experimental, and I expect to get better at using this lens in circumstances where it may be appropriate. Expect to see a few more upcoming experimental shots with this lens. I have a few ideas where it may work pretty well. Nikon D7000, Sigma 4.5mm (6.75mm equivalent), SPM, PS CS6. Experimentation is fun! Ray |
