Brian,
I must be in a better "frame" of mind tonight.  I tried cropping out more sky and believe it is much better - the only question is how much to cut. Here is one version.
Thanks for the suggestion. I also pushed the scene back a tiny bit.

Thanks for all your comments, Brian. You make a good point - this last one had lots of blank water and blank sky. It was easy to get rid of about 6 miles of water, but deciding how much sky to crop was more difficult for me. For some reason it didn't seem right cropped short and wide - so I just settled for 16:9 ratio and called it good (however, even that is a bit off - I must have adjusted the window again, or something, after cropping!!).

Interesting and somewhat unique view Greg.

I'm sure some would argue that there's too much empty space in the sky area where there are no elements for utilizing the opportunity for 3D elements and it should be cropped tighter.  I can't really argue the point except to say that sometimes the composition still needs consideration when contemplating that assumption.  Ultimately the choice is yours.
Che ers,
Brian

We finally had a few days of nice weather! My wife and I enjoyed a trip across Puget Sound to Kingston, WA, for lunch. Here are some snapshots of the view along the way.

Shot #3: After lunch, soon after the ferry departed Kingston on the return trip, I shot this view looking SE. The distant shore is approximately 7 miles away, the building tops in downtown Seattle are about 14 miles (the top of the Space Needle is barely visible on the right, behind the 3 TV station towers), and Mt Rainier is about 70 miles.  I used full zoom on G12 (140 mm equiv.), tripod, continuous-shooting mode, and selected 2 shots taken approximately 13 seconds apart.
