FISH
FRY
One Bahamas tradition is the
Wednesday night fish fry. Instead of gorging on American-style food at the
resort, we would hire
a taxi to take us to one of the
various spots where they are being conducted. Here too is an opportunity
to dine among the locals,
eating their cuisine
while integrating into their society.
Despite threatening skies our
driver gets us to an area where there are several fish fries going on
simultaneously. The driver
parks across the street from one
of the sites and soon we scurry there and plop down, ready to order. Using
my "Do you want
to see something amazing?" line
I get the server to show off the menu, as I capture her on SD card.
Just then, Dan gathers us up and
reports that another spot is much more populated and lively.
Apologetically we arise from our
seats and run off to the
new location.
