Here's a secret Ray.  It's not really easy for any of us.  It's more a matter of patience which is not what many people can handle.  I think Gug's software is probably what I might prefer but that part is disabled in the free version and I couldn't open the torrent Dariush sent the other day.  I know that the pixel shifting is very similar to what I do with SPM's clone tool but of course SPM was not designed for converting entire images.  I've tried to get someone involved with development of SPM to consider making the program more friendly towards converting images but no one seems to be interested except those of us on Flickr doing these conversions.

Keep at it.  I think you've done well for your early attempts.

Cheers,
Brian

Brian... I have just started toying with this. In the past, I have tried every method that I am aware of, and have never, not ever, succeeded to my satisfaction. I have the program that Dariush uses "up and running", but have not given it a fair chance yet. In the past few days, while ill, I was fooling around in photoshop, and discovered through my own experimentation that there may still be hope for me to learn how to do this. ...I may fail, but I am sure going to give it a try. I hope that the group has patience with me as I fumble through this. This image was done totally in photoshop. Since posting it, I have revisited the same image and with a few simple tweaks, I increased the depth of the background, improving the appearance of the image dramatically. For a starter, I thought it was fairly good. But then my daughter thought she was really good too while she was in kindergarten.
I know that I have a LOOOONG way to go, but I am going to try to conquer this challenge. To my knowledge, you are the all-time pro at doing this. I know that you know what I am up against. This really is not very easy for me. But then I never really back down from a challenge.

Ray,
What is the method of conversion you're using?

See my recent post to
new member Elenilson for some 2D-3D tutorials we have in our group files section.
If you're using the software Dariush recommended from Gug, then never mind.

Cheers,
Brian

I am just starting to teach myself how to do these. ...I can tell that I have much to learn, so be kind. :-)  ...Thanks for looking.
