Good job Ray! Now you are getting the hang of it. A couple of tricks I do with conversions is to make layers in photoshop.

For example I would use the magic wand on the letters then extract the word to a different layer. This leaves a hole which can be repaired easily with the content aware fill or clone stamp. Now you can control the depth of the individual layers which gives a very clean conversion. The skew feature will save a lot of time with your conversions.

I thought that I would revert to a simpler image until I get the hang of doing these. This one was done totally within Photoshop by shifting pixels and skewing the background to achieve the receding depth. No other software was used. Brian's comment about having patience was an understatement. This stuff is really hard. I can see that I will learn a lot by doing these, but it takes time. ...a LOT of it. Anyway, here it is. ...my second conversion.
Oh. The image was taken in San Diego Zoo's Safari Park with a Nikon D7000, 18-200mm lens (-at-) 200mm.
Thanks for looking.
Ray
