I don't know if you've checked the group file size limits in the last year or so but it WAS revised from 400K to 1MB. If you think it still needs to be increased further, I'm not opposed to it but I also keep in mind that the "unique" archive we enjoy may have space limitations also. In any case the suggestion is something that should be directed to the group owner/moderator.
