A lot of planes participated in Vintage Aircraft Weekend (VAW) at Paine Field, WA.
I understand that in many older radial engines it is common practice to manually pull them over a few revolutions, using the propeller, to verify normal movement and that a hydraulic lock has not developed while the plane was parked (it could be damaging to attempt to start the engine in that condition). Pilots generally manage
the task OK, even though it can be difficult. In this photo a team member "pitched in" to make the work easier, but there seemed to be a brief moment of confusion about how to coordinate the efforts. The
plane is a very nice 1937 Waco AQC-6.
