Thanks for responding Laurent.
Yes, I'm sure an external flash would be better all the way around for image quality and hopefully might also reduce or eliminate the weird shadows the W1 makes by the design of the flash between each lens. Shadows show up on one side of the left chip and the other side of the right chip. Sometimes shadows even seem to be focused in mid-air.
As you know, an external flash for the W1, although possible is not the easiest thing to do since the W1 has no shoe. It is something I might look into however, as soon as I find myself in a good photography shop. I'd like to actually try the configuration out at the shop before purchasing it. I'm told the embedded W1 flash will need to be covered with wax paper or a piece of film but I will still need the IR to trigger the external flash unit. Some have also had to experiment with volt
age and so fourth.
The reason I'm not in such a hurry for all that is the fact that I like to be able to carry my W1 in my pocket for convenience reasons. I don't always use it at the Cantina but I like it available without discomfort. The W1's sensor is not the best in low light either which is another reason I do a lot of post processing and noise filtering. The W1's flash also seems to light up all the dust particles which show up in the image as different sized white and translucent orbs which I painstakingly remove in post processing.
Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Excellent!
Unfortunately, I live 5
.800 miles away from Cancun Cantina! (if it is there, looks interesting: http://cancuncantina.com/) Did you use the W1 flash or a slave? Maybe using an external flash, one feet away from the W1, with a light diffusor would produce a softer light, providing an even better depth on these dangerous curves! Cheers,Laurent. ---In anaglyphs(-at-)yahoogroups.com, <anaglyphs(-at-)yahoogroups.com> wrote:
