Thanks to everyone for the recent comments on my pictures! Always appreciated.
I recently posted a link to part two of my "space" video. I have done a re-edit of the entire 18-minute with enhanced soundtrack. The first half of the video has many neat spacecraft that weren't in part two including:
The International Space Station (ISS)
The Hubble Space Telescope
A concept of a possible rocket/space station proposed in 1952
Star Trek Enterprise starships in drydock
Other United Federation of Planets starships (The Excelsior, Enterprise-E, etc.)
The huge Spacedock seen in Star Trek:TNG
The spacecraft in part two include:
The Discovery ship from 2001: A Space Odyssey
A fictional space habitat, Tor, and the Earthship, Magellano
The Deep Space 9 station
This entire production was created from Celestia, a space simulation software with add-ons by independent 3D model makers who developed spacecraft, etc. specifically to be used in conjunction with Celestia (which, by the way, is a free download).
The captivating soundtrack was a created by Isao Tomita in 1976, a pioneer in space and electronic music, and is based on the classical work, "The Planets," by Holst.
The original video was produced in Pulfrich 3D, which achieves a 3D effect by the virtual camera constantly moving linearly or arcing around the subject. The viewer wears a dark filter (as in a sunglasses lens) over the right eye only. The brain processes a darker image with a delay, therefore creating the equivalent of a right/left image.
I created the YouTube video by duplicating the original footage, and offsetting it three frames for a r/l image viewed the conventional way (anaglyph of side-by-side).
All of this is probably more than you wanted to know, but some may think the background info adds to the interest.
As usual, the bigger and sharper the image, the more impact it has. Using the gear wheel setting at lower right, choose at least 480p in the large player, or 720p or 1080p full-screen if your internet connection is fast enough. You can also set if for side-by-side in X or P, but please view it full screen in these formats.
