Skipjack Rosie Parks

The Re-launch of the Historic Skipjack Rosie Parks: Celebrating the
relaunch of this historic vessel, built by famed Dorchester County
boatbuilder Bronza Parks for his brother, Captain Orville Parks, and
named for their mother. This iconic vessel was the first of her kind to
be preserved afloat by a museum and remains one of the least altered
skipjacks in existence. The three-year restoration process, completed
by master shipwrights and their apprentices, with the help of community
volunteers and Parks family members, was funded completely by
philanthropic support.
