I made this in Mandelbulb.
  I got an image calculated it. Saved it as the left image.With the arrows I rotated it to the right a little calculated again and saved as the right  image then made the anaglyph.

John, there'more to it in mandelbulb, you can choose to only render the left
eye, or the right eye..the settings look like the ones in xenodream, I am
trying them, because I do not understand them

I looked at th Mandelbub program. At the very bottom you will see arrows
that will allow you to rotate the image on any axis.I would start with 1 or
2. You can make good 3D from your images this way. Original image= left
rotated image = right.
Hope this helps to get you started with Mandelbub 3D
