Interesting that the bend has no name.  I wonder if you could give it one?  This perspective to me suggest a dog's nose for the bend.  With a little imagination I see a sleeping dog in the hills.  My name suggestion would be something like "Sleeping Dog's Bend".  Thanks for posting this great view Art, and keep that lens clean!

Subject: [Anaglyphs] South Yuba River [1 Attachment]



Just a few miles from Nevada City, CA, the South Yuba River winds its way down through the Sierras. A system of trails follows it for about twenty miles, and is one of my favorite spring areas. This bend in the river doesn?t have a name, though it should.
The moving clouds and dust on my lens almost made me reject the Nikon chacha version shown here, but the W3 just wasn?t wide-angle enough to capture the whole scene.
