In attempting to photo garden birds and squirrels, I've started operating my pair
of Canon SL1's remotely, in a two-step process. The first full push of the control
button lifts the mirrors, the second full push fires the shutters. Small birds are
often frightened away by the sound of the mirror lock-up, and I don't get a shot.
But the squirrels seem to want to figure out where the noise came from -
so they appear to be posing for the shot. This squirrel even wanted to
climb up a leg of my tripod.
