I mentioned "Fort Armistead" in my previous "groundhog" post.

This was my first time there although it is close to where I live. This Baltimore city owned park is a little creepy after all the years have passed and the abandoned fort is now covered with graffiti, and
engulfed with trees and foliage.  Trash and broken glass is everywhere and is thought to be a dangerous place these days.  It is on the Potapsco river however, with a close sight of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.  This is close to where Francis Scott was inspired to write the words that would become our country's national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner", during a battle in the War of 1812.

Here is some history of this place...

Fort Armistead (1896-1928) - An Endicott period Coastal Defense fort named in G.O. 134 , 22 Jul 1899, for Major George Armistead, commander of Fort McHenry during the British bombardment in the War of 1812. Located at Hawkins Point, Baltimore County, Maryland. Abandoned in 1923 and claimed by the City of Baltimore in 1928. Used as a Navy ammunition dump during World War II and returned to the City in 1947.

Part of the Harbor Defense of Baltimore. Established to protect the entrance to Baltimore Harbor in 1896.

While taking pictures from one side of the fort, it was sometimes unavoidable having my shadow appear in the image. (sorry)

These images will not be pretty, but some may find them interesting.

Here now is a short series and I suspect a rare, if not the only time 3D stereo images have been made of this historic place.

Method and Equipment used:
Cha Chas made with Nikon D600, sometimes using the Zoom 85 - 300 mm lens, and some with the zoom 24 - 85 mm lens.
Other 3D stereo shots made using the Fujifilm W1 camera.

Processing:
PS-CS6, SPM, IrfanView.

Cheers,
Brian
