I caught my first ball at Camden Yards, hit by Right Fielder Kevin Kiermeier of the Tampa Bay Rays on 6-27-14. It was a make-up game that was originally rained out.

I didn't have to wait long since it happened in the 1st half of the 1st inning with only 1 out. Kevin went on to have a great game and unfortunately the Os lost.


I held my DSLR with it's 300mm zoom lens in my right hand and jumped a bit to outreach the guy next to me and caught it with my left hand. It had bounced high from a different section right to me with a good deal of spin on it but I held on to the ball with no problem.



I remember thinking the night before that if I got a chance for a ball I would use my hat to catch it but when it happened I instinctively used my hand without once thinking about my hat! :)
