Yes, as a Dubois it loses the bright color. At the edges and underneath, it was bright yellow, and darkened to orange toward the tree.

Nice. I haven?t seem them that much pale yellow (only orange).

Yet another mushroom.
This one is called Chicken of the Woods. The mass in the upper left is about 10? across. Very bright yellow, and easily spotted in the woods. Slice and sautee in a little butter and olive oil with some minced garlic, salt and pepper.
