Thanks Art.  Nice analogy.  I might add that the older I get, the less I can handle the hot chili even though I'd like to be able to.

I did other touches in the processing to try and improve aspects of the view for anaglyph stereo such as darkening the blue sky to contrast against the clouds and changing the blue color to a slightly purple-ish hue for more anaglyph-friendly viewing.  I usually use a noise filter software to reduce some of the noise the W1 is prone to induce especially in the more noticeable darker areas of the image.

Unlike some other 3D stereo enthusiasts,  I don't always crop away areas that do not have depth producing objects if I believe keeping it improves the overall composition.  In this case I kept the flat foreground because of the lighthouse reflection in the water which I wanted to keep.  Sometimes I will make several versions however, one with the crop and one without and then decide which I like better for posting but I usually keep both versions.  If I had cropped this one, the lighthouse would end up filling more of the page which I may have also liked.  In other words, I don't think I need to get rid of my artist's eye just because it's a 3D stereo format.  I try and judge each image taking this into account for overall viewing.  Many times it may be better to eliminate large blank areas if it does nothing for the 3D composition.

Cheers,
Brian

Hyper is nice, but sometimes normal is just plain easy to look at.
Kinda like chili. Doesn?t always have to be so hot it makes your eyes water.
Nice view.

I knew there would not be much depth for the X-View and less than usual for the Anaglyph for this image taken with the W1 from another pier, giving the perception that the subject was captured from a boat.  I took more shots for 2D with my Nikon but to sync the water I thought I'd try at least one shot with the W1.
