Impressive, do you mean this 3Ds
Pict is a SPM conversion made with app on your phone (where to
found this app ?) create depth map for SPM (or else soft using
depth map) without cha-cha ? If yes it is a stereoscopic
revolution !
Can you show us the depth map and the 2D color version. I suppose
SPM need depth map + 2D Pict to make the 3D conversion.
For me and my partners the universal stereo format will be a depth
map, like will permit to adjust parallax depending of support
phone, TV, projection, cinema projection,,, needed 2 frames of
more (8) to create several frames for free of glasses (on nose not
on screen) systems.
Here is joint a depth map + 2D Pict I done on a old French
volcano, will you agree to mount in SPM new version to show us
the result to make comparison of result with our 2D to 3D
conversion soft.
How to use SPM for conversion (steps)? Thank you.

Did some test shots on my phone with an app called Google
Camera. One of the modes is Blur. When you take a shot in this
mode, it prompts you to keep the image centered and raise the
phone. It tells you if you screwed it up. No side to side
movement is allowed.
What it creates is a 2D image and a depth map that can be
opened in the latest SPM.
It does introduce some introduce some interesting artifacts
into the stereo image.

Yes, I
see what you mean Art. Maybe a combination of Google Camera
and SPM's cloning tool to touch up some things might improve
the final processing. Interesting to know about these types
of apps!
I still don't own a cell or I-phone. If I hiked like you I'm
sure I would need one. ; )
