Thanks for your comments Greg.  Although the monopod theoretically should help at least reduce vertical camera movement and maybe even reduce other types of "camera shake", it of course is not as good as a tripod and I noticed I still had blurriness in my captures.  It is however less cumbersome and less of a hassle to carry since my mono-pod extends and contracts and is normally the removable center piece of my tripod.

For this cha cha, I didn't have much room and took the picture after backing into some brush.  I had my 70mm - 300mm zoom lens attached and had to be roughly 6 ft away from the subject for focusing.  The telephoto properties of the lens probably exaggerated any camera movement as well.  I had my wide angle lens in my pocket but didn't bother to change it at that time.

Cheers,
Brian

Nice one, Brian. The monopod is an interesting touch - I've used one with my W1, and twins-on-a-bar, but never tried it for 1-camera 2-position 3D.

I recently posted a sort of experiment with 2 versions of the same subject of fungi on a tree.  I mentioned I had taken other shots which might have a better stereo base at least for the X-View.  So, here's another version with more stereo base.

Cha cha, Nikon D600, Monopod, PS-CS6, ACR, SPM, IrfanView.

Cheers,
Brian
