Many years ago the Highland Railroad Company operated an electric streetcar that provided transportation from the west end of New Albany, IN to the residences, scenic park, and music hall on Silver Hills. It ran from 1891 to 1932, and the original tracks are long gone. But the path it followed is still evident in the Silver Hills woods. A couple of weeks ago I walked that path which starts near the bottom of Spring Street Hill, and winds its way through the woods to where it crossed old Main Street Hill.
