Thought I'd give it a try.  In summer, I wouldn't have considered it at all since leaves would have obscured most of it.  I agree it's a bit ugly but on the other hand, the foreground trees, give a level of depth to the stereo.

Interesting. Ugly foreground. I have lost many potentially good anas due to something close that ruined it.

This image was taken from the same spot as the water tower but about 90 degrees to the right.  I could not get a better vantage point from where I was and almost didn't bother taking the shot because of the foreground trees.  Then it finally occurred to me that the lack of leaves may just allow enough view of the background plant.
