Thanks for commenting Larry.

If I'm understanding your question, and you mean do they clear the snow off the ice, the answer is no.  I'm not aware of any reason to do that.

It's actually fairly rare that the ice would form on the creek and stay frozen for a substantial amount of time.  The marinas, owners of piers and boats that may still be in the water try to prevent freezing around them to prevent damage to the piers and boats because of the tides lifting the pilings or ice compressing against the boats.  They use something commonly known as an "ice eater" which basically is an apparatus run by electricity that moves the water.  Usually a small propeller or compressed air released beneath the water surface which moves the water and makes it more difficult to freeze.

We're expecting the most accumulation of snow to begin falling tonight, possibly starting around 5pm into Tuesday.  We'll see if we luck out once more in this area.

Cheers,
Brian

Brian nice depth to the dock. Do they clear the snow off even though they don?t use it?

A little play on words with the title.  This is another view of White's Cove, looking over my pier, basically to get the added stereo relief.

Aside from 3D stereo, I was also taking the opportunity to capture some of the textures created by the snow over the frozen water primarily for 2D photography.
