Thanks for your comments on all my posts John.

Down here we usually don't have as big an ice problem of more northern states.  Some of the people have "boat lifts".  Others have their boats taken out of the water and Winterized.  I'm not sure how many may stay in their boats year round but I know some live in them during the warmer months.  Not sure of any other reasons why some boats are left in the water unless they just can't afford to take them out.  I know barnacles will form on the bottom if they're left in the water so it seems they should be removed anyway to me.

Cheers,
Brian

Leaving boats in the water year-round seems to be a newer trend. Good thing they are well protected from wind and waves.

My neighbor's boathouse with the snow-covered frozen water of White's Cove.  You can see Oak Pt. Harbor marina in the background.

I wanted to keep the foreground because of the snow and it's texture, plus it helps the composition to prevent the image from being divided in half but of course there's not much in the way of stereo relief in the foreground although the texture does help some in that regard.

I added the floating window for the purpose of lessening deviation since the image was a little hyper.  I'm pleased with the overall results.

The surface looks like it could be earth but I wouldn't trust walking on the ice of this cove.
