Brian, thanks for the reply, I have just started to shoot raw in my Canon Rebel and like the results. You do a great job in Photoshop on your images. I have been learning HDR and want to add it to my 3D images, problem is it takes a lot of photos to do and action shots are almost impossible. I have gotten some action shots with HDR toning but not True HDR . All and all your pictures are excellent and your talent shows in them my friend.

Thank you Larry.  No, there was no HDR toning used here.  I believe I did try it on a different version however and didn't see enough positive difference for my taste on this particular image.

Occasionally someone else has asked the same question since I started shooting in RAW format and adjusting all my images manually.  At the bottom of my text you will see "ACR" which stands for "Adobe Camera Raw".  That is the adjustments I use for RAW format since the camera adjustments are basically replaced by your own processing and editing skills in Photoshop.

In this particular scene which of course was a bit more drab than usual because it's only the beginning of Spring, I decided to increase vibrancy to add a bit more overall color intensity.  Also, I suspect another adjustment in Photoshop may have prompted you to ask this question.  That adjustment falls under the equalization setting.  I sometimes use it on another layer and adjust the opacity to my taste.  I don't believe you use Photoshop if I remember correctly but you may be familiar with equalization and layers in another good software.

These types of ACR and PS adjustments combined with the full frame and higher resolution of my Nikon D600 I believe have given some of my images a look that you may suspect is HDR toning.  I will on occasion however, add a very slight touch of HDR toning on certain images for slightly improved details if I see positive improvement results but like this case, I wasn't pleased with the results it gave me.

Cheers,
Brian

Beautiful shot Brian, nice color and depth. Is there some HD toning in this shot?
