I recently came across a 1953 3D comic book which is unique in my experience: it's all 3D photography by a fellow named Samuel Stimson using actors in costumes, combined with puppets and models (cover and sample interior page attached).
In all the research and reading I've done over 30 years I never knew that this technique had been used by anyone in comic book format.
Does anyone here have any information about this? Who was Samuel Stimson? Was this a one-off or were other comic books produced using actual 3D photography rather than drawings on acetate?
Much thanks for any info!
