Because the figure itself has the same texture as the background, I'm assuming this is a conversion.  Otherwise I would think that it was an image taken with a 3D camera (or paired cameras).  This is a magnificent conversion job.  The muscles, the hair, everything has perfect depth and perspective.  Great job, Larry!
