Thanks
loads, Brian. It was fun doing this. I know what you are saying about
the distortion is true. The images are really a by-product of the video,
and when I made the depth maps, I had no intention of using them on
stereo pairs. I would have done the conversions differently had that
been the case. All-in all, it was fun though.
My
sparse participation in the groups is almost embarrassing. I am still
dealing with my mom's problems and Pat is dealing with her mom's
problems. She flew back to New Jersey yesterday to try and surmount the
difficulties that her mom is having related to dementia. ...My mom, who
also has dementia, is also suffering from lung problems even though she
has never smoked. Yesterday, the doctor again started her on antibiotics
because it appeared that pneumonia may be again setting in.
Then,
to top it all off, my daughter (my baby) is starting treatments related
to breast cancer. It it hereditary on her mother's side.
Photography gets my mind off of all these difficulties, but I cannot participate as much as I would like.

Ray,
Nice to see some of your work in the group again.
I found it thoroughly entertaining, and impressive!
It was a first for me to see this kind of animation aside from documentaries on PBS.
The
individual 3D stereo images created via depth map were good albeit,
some seemed to have slight distortions. When incorporated into the
animated video, I'm sure the everyday person would never detect anything but excellence.
Well done!!! Cheers,
Brian

Subject: [Anaglyphs] Greenfield Village
OK. So here's the deal. I decided to try something different. ...Video. This summer, Pat and I made another visit
to Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. We try to go there at least once each year. This time, it was Ragtime
weekend. The air was filled with ragtime music from 9 AM to 9 PM. We really had a great time and I took a raft of
still images with my Nikon D7100, and a small number of video clips. I decided to compile and animate a few of the
still image
s into a video. The last clip in this video is not made from a still image.
So, here's the video... about 2.5 minutes.
https://vimeo.com/140979188
While working on this clip, it was necessary to make depth maps of some of the images in order to attain the effect
that I was after. It occurred to me that these depth maps could be used to produce stereoscopic pairs of some of
the images. So, as an unintended byproduct of this video, here are some 3D stereo images which were made from the
depth maps. ...(2D to 3D conversion images). If you have cyan/red glasses, or if you are able to view 3D images
using the crossview method, please take a look.
