This was a section of the trail that was elevated near the river that ran along it's side in Robert E Lee Park - Baltimore, MD.

I found it mildly amusing that a section of this fallen tree trunk was cut away to apparently make it easier for hiking, jugging, or bicycling.  I was a bit curious why they didn't remove a whole portion rather than this partially notched out section.  Perhaps they wanted to keep it more challenging?
