Continuing my exploration of Robert E Lee park...
After coming back out of the wooded trail I continued a walk around the grounds, exploring the place for the first time and happened across this little sculpture project. I suppose it would really encourage the imagination of young children.
The plaque/sign mentions a "Fairy House". If you examine it carefully at full size, you will find many small details top to bottom related to the mythical premise and imagination of fairies.
I was surprised at how well it was holding up not only because of the outdoor environment, but I'm sure kids have interacted with it many times. There was a pavilion full of families and kids just down the hill from this spot the day I was there. I suppose that may have been the intention all along.
