The 2D image is just beautiful Brian, I know that took a lot of work to do, looks like a painting.

Thanks Larry.  I used a mono-pod (designed as the middle part of my tripod that comes out and is extendable).

I even took a few images of the carousel by extending the mono-pod, setting my shutter on a 10 sec delay and holding the tripod up high until the timer triggered the shutter.  I wanted a higher perspective since the metal wrought iron fence would have been partly in the way of the carousel otherwise.

I was up all night working on a 2D version of the carousel horses.  I carefully selected the horses and created a separate image with the horses as if they escaped the carousel and were running on the free range.  I used textures, and digital manipulation to create dust.  I added a sky and vignette, etc.  I had to manually paint some areas of rigging out of the image.  I also had to smooth the outline of the horses by painting along the edge since it is difficult to have a perfect cut and paste, especially selecting a number of horses from the carousel.

While I was at it, I created a PNG version of just the horses so that if I need or want to do another creation, I can insert the horses into an image without having to cut out the horses.  (You can make a PNG image without a background and save it for use of the horses at a later time).

If interested, here's the 2D version of that image, "
Escape Of The Carousel Horses"...
