I often use the "Creative" preset then change the values to my liking.
I've also a set of customized preset that I will reuse.
I'm using the french version of Photomatix but you can certainly transpose them to the english version.

A picture from yesterday evening in Paris on the quays of river Seine with Notre-Dame cathedral in the background.
The boat is not in sharp focus as it was slowly moving with the current.
Twinned Panasonic GX1 + Samyang 7.5 mm lenses.
Three exposures, 6, 1.5 and 24 seconds combined using Photomatix Pro, fish-eye correction with DxO Viewpoint and alignment done with SPM.
