Mark, I did not buy the pin so I could not shoot it with the W1, the 3D1 Panasonic Lumix camera works really well for subjects about three feet or less. The focus is great in low light, better than my Fuji, Canon, or Ricoh cameras. I have used it at Museums where flashes are not allowed and it has worked extremely well. The only problem I have had is using it to shoot a night parade with flash and got a lot of orbits and ghosts in it. The problem is that the flash is in the middle of the two lenses and it picks up dust and light reflections. It works well for inside shots with available light but not in total darkness outside. My Ricoh GR can shoot flash in a total dark room and come out great, reason being the flash is on the side and not in the center of the camera.

Larry --

Great ana and subject.  I never would have thought of photographing something that small'

Did you buy the pin.  If so, it would be interesting to compare the 3D1 shot with one taken by a W1 and or W3 to see how the quality compares.  The detail and focus with the 3D1 is excellent.

I made this 3D from a frog pin I saw at a local church sale. The pin is about two and a half inches long and sold for a dollar. I believe the pin was made from pewter. It was amazing that I could make the picture so large from such a small pin.
