On Sunday I went for a short hike on the lower slopes of the Franklin
Mountains in west Texas. It was very windy with blowing dust, and
visibility was down to about six miles according to the FAA. This is a
view towards the east, with the Hueco Mountains in the distance at
about 25 miles, and a small part of El Paso in the foreground. That's
highway US54 with the really tall light standard. Near the top left
corner of the picture is a star marking the general area where I live,
way out of town. With all the dust in the air there isn't much detail
at that range. I used 200mm lenses on the twin 7i's with a base of 30
meters, more or less.
