I am more comfortable working with wood so I simply routed out a slot in a 20" long 2.2" wide piece of 1/2" ash. I glued and tacked a thin strip on top in the front and back (thin enough for the lens to work and not cover the LCD or controls in the back). Cut some bolts to the right length and attached the right camera with a washer and wing nut. I tacked a couple of strips thicker than the wing nuts on bottom to allow the rig to placed on a flat surface if desired. Finding that level is important, I placed a slotted piece on the back side with a level tube that can be slid to be centered between the cameras for easy viewing. I also attached a strap to go around my neck as this helps steady the rig when shooting.

Cost: $0.00. Nothing fancy or pretty but it will do till I raid the scrap metal pile at the dump.

Hi Mainer,

Cute kid!!!

Would you care to share the details of the dual camera slide bar you made. I have my two camera ready for use but haven't yet gotten a rig put together. Any guidance would be appreciated.

As for ghosting effects, I am surprised that this would be made worse. Maybe your chips need to be moved closer together when you align them in making your anaglyph. I am just guessing! I found that even when using StereoPhotomaker and using the autopano-shift plug-in, sometimes when I used cha-cha generated chips I stilll had to use my judgement and do a little shifting left or right after auto alignment was applied.

I finally got two cameras (Canon PowerShot A550). Nothing special but they have quite a few features for only $150. At least I am not limited to still shots! I threw together a slide rig to mount them just in time for a visit from my daughter and her family.

I noticed I have a lot more problems with ghosts with two cameras....or is it because of the better quality (higher resolution) pictures? I have found some information about dealing with ghosts but would be interested in anyone letting me know how they handle with the problem.

It is so much more fun to be able to take shots with some motion!

I enjoy all of your posts very much.

Here is one of one of my grandsons......
