This statue is not meant to make people happy, it is not a feel good piece.
I was very surprised to find this in front of our state capitol building.
A few feet away is a monument with a list of the dead Minnesota soldiers.
It is a place for reflection and sadness. The young solder does not know why he is in Viet Nam and he is overloaded with ordinance.
This war is considered by many to have been filled with lies and betrayals.
This is a reminder of what can happen when the dark side of a government's shadow takes over.
It is a condemnation of bad war.We do not condem our children to see this monument.
Children do not play around this statue, notice the untrammeled grass.
It is important for them to know their leaders can make mistakes.I have taken your suggestions and saved it to a higher resolution.
I am afraid I missed focus a little when I shot this.
I pushed the scene back and I agree with you and Duke.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Sorry but this non sense monument is really terrific!! Poor children who plays in that park and condamned to see such a horrible, heavyly militaristic and Kitsh "monument"!!! I think you saved your anaglyph in a very low risolution and that's not good! And you should push back the whole scene a bit, to avoid a window violation.

The solder is holding his hands out and asking 'Why?'
