I don't have photoshop, but paintshop has shadows/midtones/highlights which sounded close enough, so I turned down the highlights in the chips. For some reason the flower has grown through my screen in the meantime.

Thanks for the suggestion. It made quite a difference.

Very nice Spaceman.  A lovely flower!  If I could suggest an experiment... try bringing the image into Photoshop (or similar editor) and giving only the whiteness of the flower some contrast or darkening in order to see more details and highlights.  If you have Photoshop CS-2, it has a nice feature that may help in this regard called Highlight/Shadows.
