(note: a personal statement follows, so, neglect if you don't agree)
I like sculptures more than paintings because you can not only see it
in 3d but also touch them (a hands on experience:-
I like figurative sculptures (greece and italy are full of them) but
the real magic is to discover the soul that is sometimes present in
non-figurative sculptures: sometimes you can feel life coming from
them. I send you one example. Believe me, it is alive and takes some
courage to put your hands on it...
