Larry,
It might be interesting to see what Photoshop can do on the portion of the face that seems over exposed.  If you have a version that included the Highlights/Shadows option, I find it can be very convenient.  This type of image would be easy to isolate the pale portion with the magic wand and then treat it for over exposure.  Obviously you like the pin so it might be worth a shot on a copy of the original. (It may not correct it, which is why I use the term "experiment").

Marshall, I purposely left a sense of scale out of the picture, because I wanted to make an extricated  full face view. I did put you at a disadvantage their. I did not use a flash and your right the facial portion looks over-exposed because the pins face is a bright white with no texture and again your at a disadvantage. Because I see the pin in person and your only looking at a picture. I am going to send you a picture of the pin at actual size and you will see what I started with. Thanks again for your imput and the tip about the tissue to bring out details.
