Yes slight window violation, the picture is better pushed a bit behind the window.
 
No, I've taken this picture alone. I have made some electrical extension cords for my LancShepherd up to about 3m.
The cameras are mounted each on a small tripod (plastic thing you can buy for 1 or 2 euros) and are placed on the stone railing of the bridge.
I'm always a little anxious when taking this kind of picture:
- the cameras can fall on the pavement (an unstable tripod cost me a camera last year...)
- the cameras can fall in the river, one dragging the other over by the LancShepherd cord!
- a passerby may attempt a "grab and run" when the cameras are the furthest apart and I'm busy adjusting one.
